Your guide, Nicole
Studio Bloom Owner & Your Guide
Nicole brings a high-performance background and a compassionate teaching style to Studio Bloom. With a background in Sport Aerobics as both an athlete, coach and studio owner, she competed at five World Championships, developing elite-level athleticism, discipline and an exceptional understanding of movement mechanics.
Through her own experience and guiding elite athletes, observing the demands of the mind in performance sport and understanding how the mind can work with you, or against you essentially shaped Nicole’s path.
Years of training and coaching elite athletes taught her that physical performance is inseparable from mental discipline: focus under pressure, rapid recovery from setbacks, and the capacity to sustain motivation. That intense inner work sparked a curiosity about the mind and subtle energy, leading her to study holistic counselling and energy healing before committing to yoga.
These studies evolved how she teaches. Her practice emphasises the interplay of mind and energy, with meditation as a central pillar. The result is a teaching style that blends movement with deep attention to breath, presence and energetic balance.
After transitioning from sport to yoga, she completed her Traditional Hatha Yoga teacher training and additional certifications in Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, Psychosomatic Healing and Ayurveda and Foundations of Yoga Therapy, as well as her previous study in functional movement and injury prevention. This blend of qualifications ensures her sessions are informed by anatomy and rehabilitation principles, alongside meditative and restorative practices.
Today she designs meditation-centered classes that combine gentle, intentional movement, mindful breathwork and guided meditation. The approach remains rooted in strength, mobility and functional principles, making her sessions appropriate for people aiming to improve performance, support rehabilitation, or cultivate a calmer, more balanced sense of wellbeing.
Nicole’s guidance at Studio Bloom blends expertise and empathy, delivering tailored, evidence-informed sessions that empower clients to move with confidence, whether preparing for sport, recovering from injury, or seeking calm amid a busy life. Teaching from the Gold Coast to students worldwide, she brings a clear, professional approach to every Private Yoga, Corporate Yoga and Online Program, helping each person meet their goals with resilience and ease.

My Certificate III in Community Recreation provided practical skills in program delivery, risk management, client engagement and inclusive facilitation—foundations that directly inform my approach to yoga. The qualification emphasised creating accessible, safe and enjoyable activities for diverse groups, which translates to thoughtfully structured classes, clear cueing and modifications for different abilities. Combined with yoga training, the Cert III strengthens my ability to design programs that meet community needs, manage group dynamics and uphold professional safety standards both in-person and online.
-
My Certificate III and IV in Fitness provide a strong, complementary foundation for teaching yoga by combining exercise science, anatomy, injury prevention and client assessment with practical skills in program design and professional practice. These qualifications deepen my understanding of biomechanics, muscular function and safe progression, enabling me to adapt yoga practices to individual needs, manage contraindications, and support rehabilitation or performance goals. They also reinforce competency in communication, risk management and ongoing client evaluation, ensuring my yoga instruction is both effective and safely tailored to each student.

My Advanced Practitioner training in holistic counselling deepens the therapeutic dimension of my yoga teaching by integrating somatic awareness, trauma-informed communication and client-centred coaching into asana, breathwork and relaxation practices. This training equips me to sensitively read individual needs, hold embodied space for emotional processing, and apply tools from counselling—such as reflective listening, behaviour-change strategies and mindfulness-based interventions—to support lasting wellbeing. The result is a more nuanced, person-focused yoga experience that honours the interplay between mind, body and nervous system.

I hold a 200‑hour Traditional Hatha Yoga certification that grounded me in classical alignment, breathwork (pranayama), sequencing and meditation. This training informs everything I offer — from tailored private sessions to corporate classes and online programs — ensuring each practice balances strength, mobility and mindful breath in a way that is accessible, progressive and safe for all levels. My approach honours the tradition’s fundamentals while adapting postures and sequencing to meet individual needs and modern lifestyles.
I also draw on the moon–sun–fire philosophy to shape how I design classes and guide students through their practice. The moon aspect emphasises restorative, cooling, and inward practices—longer holds, gentle mobility, slow pranayama and meditative focus—to cultivate relaxation, reflection and nervous system regulation. The sun aspect brings energising, strengthening and warming sequences—standing postures, balanced flow and dynamic breath—to build vitality, resilience and clear intention. Fire represents transformation and refinement: intelligently applied heat through effort and breath that helps release stiffness, refine alignment and foster personal growth.
Blending these three qualities allows me to create balanced sessions that meet you where you are: calming or restorative practices when you need grounding; sun‑led, empowering flows when you need energy and strength; and fire‑informed sequencing and breathwork to catalyse change, improve mobility and stabilise mental focus. Whether in private, corporate or online settings, this moon–sun–fire framework ensures each practice supports physical health, emotional equilibrium and sustainable progress.

My Yin Yoga + Prana Vayus certification shapes my teaching by blending deep, restorative practice with an embodied understanding of subtle breath movement. I structure classes to honour longer holds and passive postures while guiding students to explore the five prana vayus — directions of life force that influence stability, expansion, grounding, circulation and inward focus. Cueing is precise and tactile, emphasising breath-led attention and micro-adjustments to support alignment and nervous system regulation. Sessions prioritise nervous system safety, individual pacing and accessible variations, inviting students to feel shifts in energy flow as well as physical release. The result is a calm, intelligence-led approach that fosters resilience, somatic awareness and sustained energetic balance beyond the mat.

My 20-hour training in Ayurveda, body reading and psychosomatic healing deepened my understanding of how subtle physiological and emotional patterns manifest in the body and directly inform a therapeutic yoga practice. By integrating Ayurvedic principles—dosha balance, digestion and daily rhythm—with body-reading skills and psychosomatic insight, I can more accurately assess tension patterns, movement restrictions and stress responses, then tailor breath, alignment and sequencing to support holistic healing. This approach complements yoga’s mind–body framework, enabling more precise, compassionate and effective sessions that address the root causes of imbalance rather than just symptoms.

My chair yoga and aged care study underpins my teaching by combining evidence-based adaptations with compassionate, practical instruction that prioritises safety, mobility and dignity. Training in chair-based techniques informs how I assess individual capabilities, modify poses for common age-related conditions, and scaffold progress to improve balance, joint mobility and confidence. This background also shapes my communication style—clear, patient and respectful—so sessions are accessible, inclusive and focused on functional outcomes that enhance daily living for older adults.

My study in the foundations of yoga therapy has deepened my understanding of yoga as a holistic healing system that extends far beyond physical movement; it has equipped me with tools to recognise and address the interconnected layers of wellbeing — emotional regulation, lifestyle choices and broader wellness patterns — enabling personalised practices that support nervous system balance, stress resilience and sustainable behavioural change for each individual.
Collaboration + Events
Beyond sharing personalised yoga, meditation and small group offerings, I also enjoy collaborating with local (and not so local) businesses, retreats, hotels and corporate workplaces to bring yoga to your event, desk or weekend retreat. Here a some of our past and current collaborations.
A literal daydream. I had the honour of sharing yoga + meditation with both the staff and guests of Daydream Island. The perfect complimentary class to truely relax into holiday mode. Set in the most serene space in the underwater observatory, I offered a grounding yoga + meditations class while the sun set through the living reef and with the fish, rays + sea life swimming by. It was one of the most beautiful ways to share and experience yoga.
Yoga at Daydream Island
The cutest event ever. With the rise of supporting mental and emotional wellness in athletes I was blessed to be able to share yoga in such a fun + energetic way with such a beautiful group of girls. The event was in collaboration with a kids activewear label and beautiful morning to nourish this group. We explored playful yoga poses + games before slowing it down to find calm and receive a beautiful sound healing.
Girls & Co Community Event
Another luscious morning of sharing yoga, in collaboration The Valley Gathering - a local retreat offering centred around a beautiful meal. This retreat was hosted by Chef Kate and begun with a morning of yoga, meditation + sound healing, a relaxing hour by the magnesium pool + spa surrounded by nature, then complimented with a professionally prepared 4 course meal. A wonderful day of calm, connection + nourishment.
The Valley Gathering Retreat
I have been teaching the sweetest little yogis across the Northern Rivers + Byron Bay for the past two years and this makes up a big part of my weekly schedule. This classes are vibrant, fun + full of energy. I love sharing yoga with these sweet souls, they bring so much joy into my week.
